I picked Salem up from her play date yesterday. Again, I'm not fond of that term, but it's becoming the norm in terms of detailing children's activities. Why can't we just say that kids are playing together, why do we have to coin a phrase to make a completely normal activity sound soooo important? Harumph!
me: "Hey kiddo! Tell me all about your wonderful day!"
her: "You mean my wonderful day in prison?"
me: "What? Why would you say that you were in prison?"
her: "Well, I'm wearing a striped shirt, and that's what they wear in prison on Spongebob."
I seem to have forgotten about the Spongebob prison episode.
